Hey everyone,

First off, in case you’re living under a rock and/or have sworn off CNN: Doug Jones won the Alabama Senate seat.

The majority of the credit goes to black women in Alabama who turned out and voted 98% for Jones, and the amazing organizers on the ground and on the phones (including many of you!). May this victory be repeated many times over, and may no candidate ever ride to the polls on a terrified-looking horse again (we are team #SaveSassy).

Back to the work at home: as we are winding down for the holidays, we have some housekeeping announcements that I wanted to keep separate from the action planning, so they are all included here. Enjoy.

IS Store!

There’s no better gift for your crazy Trump-loving uncle than an Indivisible Somerville t-shirt that supports local activism…well, maybe not. But you CAN order one for yourself and your friends at our new online store. Our focus is activism, not merchandise, so we’ve only got the shirts (and free stickers) for now – but our creative team will be working on adding a few more items down the line. All proceeds benefit IS and help pay for technology, meeting space, supplies, etc.

10 Minute Tasks

Got 10 minutes in the middle of the day? Looking for a way to give back from your computer or phone? We’re launching a small test version of a digital canvassing project called 10 Minute Tasks that lets you do just that. Open the link, pick a task, and work away – we provide simple instructions that anyone can follow.

Give us your feedback on tasks, instructions, and the concept in general at volunteer@indivisiblesomerville.org.

The anniversary survey isn’t closed yet, and we are still raffling off a dinner at True Bistro. We are aiming for 100 responses, and if you are the 100th person to complete it, you too will receive a special prize.

We are already using your suggestions and feedback in our planning, and it’s delightful to hear your thoughts and ideas. Please take a second to let us know what issues you care about and what you’d like to see in your city.

Block your calendars now for January 6th at 6pm at Canopy – IS is turning a year old, and YOU’RE INVITED to come hear speakers and eat and drink with us. Bring your friends, everyone is welcome regardless of whether they’ve been involved or not. Don’t miss it!
