An incubator for 21st century activism

Working with our local and national communities, we advance fresh ideas, education, collaboration and effective organizing for social change.

We welcome experienced organizers and people brand new to activism. Please join us!

INDIVISIBLE

Indivisible Somerville is the local wing of the Indivisible movement, though we reach far beyond our local borders. We are proud to stand with the 6,000 chapters nationwide. Together, we are working hard to keep our government working for all citizens.

LABS

A lab is a committee tasked with developing and growing projects and concepts vital to our mission. Members participate in projects they care about – we provide resources and connect people with similar interests. We value experimentation and innovation.

COMMUNITY

The best way to build a better world and create positive change is by making connections and cultivating them. We invest in people long-term, because our community needs good neighbors as much as it needs good leaders.

You can sit with us

From small group strategies to national rallies, we have a full calendar of events for all interests.

5 CALLS FOR IS

Type in your zip code, choose your issues, follow the script. With our IS-developed collaboration with 5 Calls, contacting your congressperson about what matters to you is easy and effective. Say what you like, or follow the script if you’re new to calling. Volume counts, and calls matter!

I used to be scared of calling, but now I do it with the relaxed swagger of a drunk person ordering a pizza.” – IS Member

10 MINUTES FOR CHANGE

Change the world? I don’t got time for that!

With our 10 Minute Tasks, everyone can contribute to promoting what’s great, fighting what’s wrong, and lending their voice to this crucial movement. Each small contribution adds up to very big things! And you can do all that and still have time for your family, your job, and your quest to learn Old Norse before Thurseblot.*

When they shut down, we stand up.

On January 20, 2017, hundreds of thousands of people hit the streets in protest as Donald Trump assumed the reins of government. One year later, the people are back, and Trump is letting those same reins flop to the floor. This year, we take the reins back. Let us...

The Good News

After Trump signed the Martin Luther King Day proclamation, reporters erupted with questions about his shithole remark. “Mr. President, are you a racist? Mr. President, will you respond to these serious questions about your statement, sir?” April Ryan asked. Trump...
